Therefore, it's dangerous to assume that "I still have half the friction material left, so I can continue driving the same distance I did before." Consider replacing your brakes when they're down to half their original thickness, and replace them as soon as possible when only 1/17 of the friction material remains. It's especially important to check the remaining friction material before circuit racing.
