We are all connected. The choices we make affect us all. Even choosing baking parchment paper is one of them. We care about the environment as much as you do. It’s good for all of us.
Chlorine.
If You Care parchment paper is made from unbleached, chlorine free (TCF) paper. By eliminating chlorine, you prevent the risk of chlorine residues and derivatives entering lakes, rivers and streams, which can have long-term harmful effects on the ecosystem. We need clean water, not bleached paper for baking.
Paper.
We use FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) paper as our primary raw material. Illegal logging around the world is causing enormous damage and loss of countless forests.
FSC certification ensures that our heritage paper is produced from raw materials that adhere to the highest environmental and social standards for forest management. We believe that this is good for the environment and a valuable thing to do for baking.
Non-stick heritage paper.
The heritage paper surface is non-stick, so you can enjoy baking with peace of mind, and is made of silicon, a form of silicon that is commonly found on Earth, non-toxic and easily biodegradable. It is not a silicone coating that is not biodegradable. It is a product that is made with consideration of the composting stage during the product use process, so that you can enjoy baking with peace of mind and comfort.
Usage process.
It is easy to think that all paper is biodegradable, but that is not the case. Paper is made in many different forms through numerous processes. Our heritage paper is certified biodegradable in household and municipal settings. This is important, considering that millions of tons of valuable, eco-friendly raw materials end up in landfills worldwide, wasting away and, in severe cases, producing methane, a harmful greenhouse gas that contributes to climate change.
Biodegradable.
Biodegradable in household and municipal settings means that the raw materials can be returned to the ecosystem. Micro fauna also receive good nutrients, storing carbon and producing nutrient-rich fertilizers that improve soil health, creating a foundation for other life to grow. All of this impacts our lives. Isn’t it great?

Complete Cycle
Recycle cardboard boxes. Heritage paper can be biodegraded in municipal, commercial composting facilities, or even at home.
TUV Austria Home: If You Care Certified Biodegradable Baking Paper is a product that can be composted in your backyard or home compost facility.
TUV Austria Industrial: If You Care Certified Biodegradable Baking Paper is compostable in commercial compost facilities and meets the EN 13432 standard. You may not have such facilities in your area.
