The Hario Cafe Old Dripper 02 CFOD-02B Black (for 1-4 cups) is a coffee dripper that extracts coffee aromas without the need for paper filters. The stainless steel mesh ensures precise extraction of coffee oil, one of the delicious components of coffee. Enjoy a truly aromatic coffee with a distinctly different flavor than coffee extracted with a paper filter. How to Use (1) Place the dripper in your pot or cup and add medium-ground coffee powder up to the recommended number of cups on the inside of the dripper. Adjust the amount of coffee powder to your liking, not exceeding the "4" mark. Note: The stainless steel mesh filter will produce some coffee powder, but it will still extract the coffee's natural aroma and allow you to enjoy a truly authentic coffee flavor. If you are concerned about coffee powder, sift the coffee powder before use. Note: For iced coffee, fill the server or cup approximately 80% with ice, then pour in hot water and brew. For a strong brew, pour approximately 90ml of hot water per cup of coffee grounds. (2) Pour freshly boiled water over the coffee grounds, starting from the center, and let it steep for about 30 seconds. Then, pour the hot water in a swirling motion from the center. *Please carefully pour the hot water toward the center of the coffee grounds. If the hot water hits the mesh directly, it may not extract properly. Also, pouring too quickly may cause it to spill over the sides of the dripper. (3) Once extraction is complete, remove the dripper and it's ready. The sides of the dripper will be hot after brewing. Hold the dripper handle when removing it. *One cup yields approximately 120-130ml. Adjust to your liking.
