Product Introduction
The Type 12 Surface-to-Ship Missile was developed as a successor to the Type 88 Surface-to-Ship Missile beginning in 2001. Its deployment began in 2014, and 22 vehicles are currently in service.
While the overall system configuration is the same as the Type 88, the vehicle and canister (missile storage container) have been significantly modified.
The vehicle shares the same chassis as the Heavy Wheeled Recovery Vehicle and is equipped with a new canister, a square design rather than the round shape of the Type 88, giving it a completely modern appearance.
Not only has the vehicle's appearance improved significantly, but its performance has also seen significant advancements, with significantly improved target information update capabilities, simultaneous impact, terrain tracking, and command and control functions.
With island defense now becoming increasingly important in Japan's defense, the Type 12 Surface-to-Ship Missile is expected to fulfill this important mission.
Optional driving and launch positions are available.
Includes etched parts for the handle, mesh, light guard, and luggage rack.
The light lens can be realistically recreated using clear resin parts.
