About the Actual Car The Volkswagen Polo R WRC is an S2000-compliant rally car that German manufacturer Volkswagen entered in the WRC in 2013. The body, fitted with overfenders, was expanded to the full legal width of 1820mm. This car was powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four engine mounted up front. The car first competed in the first round of the 2013 WRC, the Monte Carlo Rally. It performed well, recording the fastest time in the special stage and finishing in second place. After taking its first win in the second round, the Swedish Rally, the car continued to perform well thereafter, demonstrating its strength in its debut year by winning the championship with driver Sébastien Ogier and the manufacturer's title as well.

About the Model This 1/24 scale Volkswagen Polo R WRC plastic model assembly kit is released by Belkit, a Belgian model manufacturer passionate about developing rally car models. Containing 133 parts, the finished kit measures 167mm in length and 77mm in width. This model recreates the Polo car that won the 2013 WRC Rallye de France-Alsace. The front and rear overfenders are reproduced as a single unit. Large decals are provided for each of the three drivers: Ogier, Latvala, or Mikkelson. Night stage lights are also modeled. The underside of the chassis is faithfully reproduced with mechanical details, including the suspension and 4WD driveshaft. The cockpit is meticulously recreated with rally equipment like a fire extinguisher, as well as the unique shift lever, roll bar, and steering frame.

The kit also includes photo-etched parts for seatbelts and brake discs.
